Introduction

During the first two weeks of August, 1999,  a class of teachers and teacher-librarians gathered in the Language Education Department at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC to take a course about the information literate school community. One of the assignments was to create a web quest that would support teachers and teacher-librarians in understanding more about concepts underlying the informational literate community. We decided to share that collection of links with everyone in the course and with our fellow colleagues in schools across Canada and around the world.
